The Solace Financial Team outside Solice Financial House in Brisbane

Brisbane financial advisers you can trust

Solace Financial is run by its principal advisers and we hold our own Australian Financial Services Licence. We operate independently, meaning the financial advice we give isn’t influenced by a bank or any external product provider. Five financial planners. Over 80 years of combined experience. We started Solace in 2013, carrying forward what we’d learned as part of the Whittaker Macnaught group, and we’ve operated by one unbreakable rule since day one; our clients’ interests come first.

Why choose Solace Financial as your financial advisers?

together we are

Owner-Operated & Independent advice

Your advisers are the owners. We hold our own AFSL, so the strategic financial advice you get is fully independent. It is not influenced by a bank or any external product provider. The people providing practical advice are the same people accountable for the outcomes. That’s how we think it should work.

well educated

Specialist Expertise Under One Roof

Our advisers are very experienced across their own specialty areas, whether that’s aged care, SMSF, estate planning, or risk. When your situation calls for that knowledge, your adviser brings in the in-house specialist. You get that depth without changing firms, and your primary adviser stays involved throughout.

Solace Separately Managed Accounts give us control over your portfolio, so faster adjustments can be made when markets shift and you have full transparency on what you’re invested in. FAQs

How much experience does the Solace Financial team have?

Over 80 years combined, across investment management, retirement planning, superannuation, insurance, estate planning, and aged care. All our advisers hold formal qualifications and operate under the FAAA Code of Ethics. They also complete annual Continuing Professional Development courses to stay up to date.

Do I need a financial planner or an investment advisor?

If your focus is on managing and growing investments, getting help from an investment adviser is a good idea. If you want broader financial advice that also covers retirement, tax strategies, superannuation, insurance, and business structuring, a financial planner could be a better option. And, if your focus includes reviewing your super fund or consolidating multiple accounts, either would work. Our team covers both.

How often will we meet to review my financial plan?

We recommend reviewing at least once a year, as financial planning isn’t something you just set and forget. We keep an eye on your progress, reassess things when your circumstances shift, and adjust the plan to match what’s happening in your life. You’re also welcome to meet more often if you’d prefer.

How much does a financial adviser cost?

Your first consultation is on us. If you decide to go ahead, we’ll quote a fixed upfront fee for the preparation of your financial plan and Statement of Advice. There’s also an ongoing fee for reviews and investment management. All fees are discussed before you commit, and they’re outlined in your Statement of Advice. We don’t charge entry or exit fees on investments or superannuation products.

What makes the Solace Financial investment approach different?

We manage portfolios through our proprietary Solace Separately Managed Accounts, which gives us direct control so we can respond quickly when market conditions shift and adjust allocations without delay. Every strategy is built around the individual client’s risk tolerance and wealth accumulation goals. Most advice firms aren’t set up to work this way.

Is Solace Financial independent?

Yes. We hold our own Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL 509493) and the firm is owned by its principal advisers. We are not affiliated with any bank or external product provider. The advice you receive is shaped solely by your interests, with the aim of helping you secure your savings and build lasting wealth
